LUCILLE COLLINS AND CHRISTOPHER COLLINS
Lucille Collins and L. Christopher Collins
This mom-and-son "singing group" has been surrounded by gospel music their entire lives: church, pianos, guitars, hymns, choruses, singing, preaching, and the Word of God. Focusing on scripture, truths, and lyrics has been as natural to them as breathing. So it's only logical that they should express their faith and their understanding of God through music: old songs, new songs, and their own songs.
Many years ago, Lucille, who has been singing since she was a child, recruited her son, Chris, to sing with her. Eventually he starting playing piano for their "specials" and their concerts, and their reach grew beyond local churches to other churches and events throughout Eastern Texas and the American South.
They have had the privilege of performing on stage with artists such as James Blackwood, The Florida Boys, Squire Parsons, Larry Ford, Rex Nelon, and many more.
Through the decades, each of them has written dozens of songs. They've sung them for years, but in 2017, they had the opportunity to go to Daywind Studios in Hendersonville, Tennessee and record an album of twelve songs, six written by Lucille and six written by Chris. The album, featuring many amazing Nashville musicians, was the first of what The Collinses hope to be a series of recordings that will allow others to hear and be blessed by the songs. As of now, songs from the first album have been played on radio stations from Florida to Alaska and from Texas to Massachusetts.
Chris was minister of music for many years and, like Lucille, has played piano for decades.
He also has also had the privilege of officiating dozens and dozens of weddings.
It is the Collinses' hope that their songs lift you up and bring you joy and peace--but ultimately glorify God and bring honor to the Almighty One.
